Today I had the privilege to visit the Longworth House Office Building, part of the Capitol campus, as well as the House Chamber floor, which was getting prepped for the upcoming State of the Union Address. I was invited by my friend Rudy, a staff member for one of the U.S. representatives. The House floor was intimate and refined. To get to it, we navigated a maze, beginning in the House Office Building, through an underground passage to the Exhibition Hall, then through a number of checkpoints and train rides (typically only staff and invited guests are allowed into the Chamber as well as the balcony).
