2018 Delaware Wetlands Conference

This is the 8th Delaware Wetlands Conference, hosted by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC). Wetlands make up a quarter of the land in Delaware and play a vital role in the health of the Chesapeake.

The conference began in 2001 as a small gathering at Cape Henlopen State Park (my favorite Mid-Atlantic beach). It has greatly expanded in the years since and this year filled the Wilmington, DE Chase Center on the Riverfront.

I attended the following presentations among others: Alison Rogerson of DNREC (Understanding Delawarean’s Perceptions of Wetlands), Laura Miller of Delaware Nature Society (Clean Water: Delaware’s Clear Choice), Bob Collins of Center for the Inland Bays (Changes to the Inland Bays Oyster Gardening Program).
