Had fun diving with Lahaina Divers for an afternoon “discovery” scuba. We dove off the Mala wharf, the part now submerged after being battered by Hurricane Iniki and currents, which locals warned the builders about. We went through the training just as I did for my first time diving with Maui Dreams, learning how to perform three techniques and then descending to the bottom. We saw a white tipped shark (4’ or 5’) and a frog fish. The instructor had hand gestures for different types of fish and I repeated his playing gesture for a trumpet fish–a cornet fish I later discovered.
