Attended the the “Untold Titanic” National Geographic Society presentation by Dr. Robert Ballard. Turns out, Ballard’s search for Titanic was a cover story for a classified Navy mission. “We pulled it off! That was my job” Ballard’s story was of exploration and discovery–and inspiration.
“If it’s easy, it ain’t worth doing. Go for the big mountain cause nobody’s on it and if you fall, it’s the same either way.”
On the moment of discovery: “We were at the spot and it spoke.”
“Learn that the earth is a creature. It’s a creature we’re trying to live in harmony with.”
